SIFA Summer School “Science and Technology: Truth and other Values”
September 5-6, 2023
University of Genoa
Department of Antiquities, Philosophy, History and Geography
The Italian Society for Analytic Philosophy (SIFA) is delighted to announce the Summer School “Science and Technology: Truth and other Values”, which will take place from 5 to 6 September 2023 at the University of Genoa, Department of Antiquities, Philosophy, History and Geography.
The Summer School aims to offer to up to 25 excellent Master and PhD students—as well as early-career researchers—the opportunity to discuss some of the most recent philosophical trends in a lively interdisciplinary setting. The intersection between science, technology, and value will be addressed with respect to different philosophical domains: philosophy of science, ethics, political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of technology. In addition to lectures, the programme will feature discussions based on a reading assignment, which will be delivered by the lecturers in due course. The lovely setting of Genoa will provide an ideal backdrop for stimulating philosophical conversations, inside and outside the Summer School programme.
The Summer School attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a round table discussion on September 9, in the afternoon, following the conclusion of the 15th SIFA Annual Conference, which will be held in Alessandria from September 7 to 9.
