How to get to Alessandria

Arriving by train
The conference venue is situated in a walking distance (10 mins) from Alessandria train station, which is connected to Milan, Turin and Genova train stations.

  • Tickets can be conveniently purchased either online or by utilizing the automated machines located within the station premises. Cost vary according to the train option. “REG” and “RV” denote regional trains, “IC” represents intercity trains, while “Frecciabianca” and “Frecciarossa” are high-speed train services. Opting for intercity or high-speed trains could be particularly advantageous when reservations are secured well in advance.
  • In Italy, it is mandatory to “validate” your tickets, unless the departure time is already printed on the ticket itself (typically seen on ticket for regional trains). For validating your ticket, small machines can be found within the station vicinity and adjacent to the platforms.
  • Please notice that tickets purchased online through the Trenitalia website need to be validated by following the link provided in the confirmation email.

NB: Due to a disruption on the railway line, people arriving by train from Turin should board a replacement bus (no extra cost) to Asti. From Asti, you can continue your journey by train to Alessandria.
